Meet the SHKCA Officers
President : Victor Wai Ho Lim
Welcome to the Society of Hong Kong and Chinese Affairs! My name is Victor and I am currently a junior at Cal, double majoring in Asian American Studies and Asian Studies with an emphasis on China. I am a second generation Chinese American San Franciscan native, and grew up in the North Beach and Chinatown districts. I am proud to say my ancestral roots originate from Toishan County, Szeyup Region of Guangdong Province in southern China. Joining SHKCA in my sophomore year, I enjoyed SHKCA’s club atmosphere and casual social academic setting. It is my honor to seve as your president this year and I hope to continue SHKCA’s excellence in promoting Chinese culture and East Asian Culture, raising awareness of the development in the Far East, and providing a friendly social environment for the UC Berkeley community. SHKCA’s goal this year is to increase the number of social-cultural events as we continue to host guest speakers and academic events. I look forward in seeing all of you in our meetings and social events. Cheers and GO BEARS!

I can’t wait to the first general meeting to meet everyone who’s interested in the club!! Thanks for supporting SHKCA and have a wonderful semester at Cal.
Vice President : Dennis Wu
Hi, I am Dennis Wu, your Co-VP for Fall 2006 SHKCA. Some of you may recognize me from Fall 04 to Spring 05 as the club's Web Master. So, I am back, SHKCA, as a Cal Alumni, because I've graduated! Some of you may wonder why is this veteran still hanging out with the youngsters. The reason is simple. Let me break it down and see if they make any sense to you: First, right when I was about to graduate, I was employed by the Campus. Second, I like SHKCA's environment and Cal. GO BEARS~~ And last but not least, SALUTE~~ If these reasons are non-sense, please come to my "office hour" on Campus @ 2625 Durant Avenue, or meet me after SHKCA's activities. Thank you for your time and we are going to have a great semester with SHKCA! GO SHKCA SALUTE~~

That’s why I have become an officer. Together with other officers and all members, I wish to build SHKCA a better and stronger club. About myself, I am a freshmen intended in Molecular & Cellular Biology. Still, I am not sure what to do in future, and I am planning change major to Mechanical Engineering. Public Relations: Gordon Pong
Hi, I am Gordon Pong. I am an economics major, senior. I am so proud to be part of SHKCA because it has a tradition of excellence in terms of eminent leadership, political involvements. My main career interests are stock trading, stock analysis, and sales activities including product selling and fund raising. Besides, I am a perfectionist who demands everything to be done in a profound fashion. As for my background, I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and I came to the US several years ago. However, I always update myself on what is going on in Hong Kong. Being the public relations for this academic year, I would regard myself as an ambassador who promotes the goodwill of the club by proactively maintaining pleasant relationships with professors, current members, and potential members, not to mention building bonds with our fellow schoolmates from other clubs for future cooperation. Hope to see you at our events.
PS: I am a poker, pool, and Karaoke fanatic…if you love them too, definitely meet me up at events and we can talk.
Webmaster: Alex Leung
I'm Alex and I'm currently a 4th year Bioengineering major. I am eager to spend another 4-6 years of school as I hope to attend medical school after I graduate.
