SHKCA is having our first event of the semester- First general meeting and Chinses New Year celebration! We will have fun games, traditional Chinese food such as Chinese rice cake and many more! We will also have our events for the semester ready such as internship opportunities, career panels and volunteering! Come celebrate Chinsese New Year with us, make new friends, and discover opportunities that will brighten your year! Message from the President: Dear SHKCA, Greetings! I hope everyone is enjoying a great semester so far. Our last two events, the Museum visit and our "Bombs and Babes" on Chinese Culture and advertisement featuring David Fraser and his personal collection was great. As for the rest of this semester, SHKCA aims to attract the larger population of the Berkeley Campus and will try build diversity in our club in hopes to broaden our views politically and culturally. Already we have seen some of that result during our Moon Festival. We will also continue to research more opportunities for career development and community outreach that will enrich our educational experience. I would like to announce that we have three interns joining us this semester: Helen Leao, Catherine Ng, and George Liang. These individuals show exceptional capabilities and innovative perspective to what SHKCA tries to achieve. Although the deadline for internship applicants had already ended, we are accepting officer applicants on a rolling basis. Keep in mind that officer positions require a dedication of one academic year and the process includes an election process. I am also looking forward to have more members sign up to volunteer for SHKCA activities and the growth of the SHKCA family. You can sign up to be an active volunteer at our table.
